A matte floor format. The honed finish keeps the open pores quiet underfoot and hides the dust that a polished open-vein surface collects.

Honed unfilled tile is the workhorse floor in this stone, and the reason it works is the same reason it needs looking after: the open pores make the surface matte, which means it does not show the traffic that a polished travertine floor shows in its first year.
Sort it on site. An unfilled floor tile from one lot will carry a visible spread in tone, and because the tone variation reads as movement in the floor, a warehouse delivered mixed will look like a deliberate pattern until the client stands in one spot for a while. Sorting takes an hour and is worth every minute of it.
The maintenance commitment is real and should be stated to the client rather than discovered by them. Penetrating sealer on an unfilled floor needs refreshing, typically every two to three years depending on traffic and on how wet the location is. In a bathroom or a pool hall the cycle is shorter. We would rather say this at the quotation stage than take the call afterwards.
12-20 working days to FOB for standard forms; cut-to-size and matched sets are quoted per job. Send a thickness, a quantity, a finish and a destination port and you will have an FOB quotation, usually within three working days, with no obligation on a first shipment.
